Further tips for dealing with an ADD / ADHD Child
Some research looks to the ADHD Diet. The ADHD Diet should be high in protein, lots of water, raw vegetables and multivitamins. Avoid sugary foods, also avoid junk food carbohydrates (such as fried foods, chips, etc.) and processed foods. (Some even advise avoiding the use of carbonated drinks, juices, dairy products these are foods that are only suggested to watch for, there is not a need to avoid these food if you do not observe a change in behavior or ability to focus/concentrate.)

Teach Organization Skills and help them to come up with and then stick to a Routine.

Avoid threatening, intimidating, scolding, taunting or automatically accusing him/her. When parent's do such to the ADHD chiratherld the parent becomes the problem and/or the child ends up with poor-self esteem and avoids talking things out with their parent.

Parents must Learn Patience and Practice Patience, it is important to explain, guide and demonstrate rather than express anger and frustration.
